The Golden Tornado baseballers not only kept their post-season hopes intact, but also enjoyed a little revenge in the process on Tuesday night at Seminole.
After falling to the Indians 8-2 here a couple of weeks ago at Joe Spikes Field, the Tor baseballers put it all together again on Tuesday night in Gaines County and came home with the big 7-2 District 2-4A diamond victory.
“This is one game we had to get. Right now, we’re not afraid to say that our season pretty much depended on this one here tonight,” Golden Tor Coach Jacob Hernandez said.
“Tonight is just terrific! It was a total team effort, too. Defensively, our guys played another great ball game. We didn’t make any errors. Our pitching was there again, but really our pitching’s been there the last four ball games for us. We got big hits when we really needed them, too.”
With Tuesday’s big victory, the Golden Tor baseballers are now 8-12-1 on the year, including 4-4 that is good for a share of third place in the current District 2-4A diamond standings going into the final two games of the regular season.
